WHAT TIME IS IT? GAME TIME!!

LAKERIDGE YOUTH FOOTBALL

PACER FAM

We had a great 2024 Tackle Season! Registration for the 2025 season will open on May 1, 2025.  Practice will start August 4, 2025! If you are new to tackle football, please note the following:

- the levels of play within our league (TVYFL) are: 3rd/4th grade, 5th/6th grade, 7th grade, and 8th grade.

- tackle football is no-cut, no-tryout. However, we evaluate roster sizes/registrations numbers at each level of play (during the registration period) to determine whether/when we need to create a waitlist/close registration (because the league has maximum roster sizes);

- there are minimum play rules for each level of play (15 plays per player per game for 3rd/4th, 10 plays for the other levels);

- the first 3 weeks of practice are 5x a week (Mon-Fri);

- it is especially important to not miss practices during those first three weeks;

- once the school year starts, practices will be held 3x a week;

- games are every Saturday, starting the Saturday after Labor Day through the end of October/early November.

To inquire about registration, please email: LYFRegistrar18@gmail.com.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Being a part of Lakeridge Youth Football is like being a part of a family. As a member of our team, kids learn teamwork, perseverance, goal-setting, and camaraderie. While teaching the great game of football we stress integrity and accountability while helping build self-confidence - and we do so in a fun and engaging environment.

Lakeridge Youth Football is part of the Tualatin Valley Youth Football League (TVYFL), the nation's third-largest independent non-profit football league committed to providing safe and enjoyable athletic competition. Certified by USA Football's national initiative, Heads Up Football®, Lakeridge Youth Football League shows a strong commitment to making the sport both better and safer.

Our 130+ participants include students that will be entering grades 3rd - 8th in the Fall and who live within the Lakeridge High School  boundary or attend a school feeding into the Lakeridge High School boundary.  Student-athletes who attend Lakeridge Middle School, Westridge, Hallinan, and River Grove are automatically accepted (unless a waitlist has been created or registration has already been closed).  All others are encouraged to contact the LYF President for playing options.

EXPLANATION OF 3/4 ROOKIE TACKLE:

Lakeridge Youth Football participates in TVYFL's Rookie Tackle program for the 3rd/4th-grade level.   This is a transitional program designed to help bridge the gap between flag football and full 11-person tackle football.

As most other sports have a progression level (t-ball, coach pitch, player pitch for baseball; small field/goal/team size for soccer; etc.), our hope is that Rookie Tackle will make the game more accessible, easier to understand, and more fun for our younger, entry-level players in a 7-on-7 tackle format.

By way of example, Lakeridge Youth Football fielded the following teams in the 2024 season:

One 8th Grade team - 11-person tackle (Varsity) - 22 players

One 7th Grade team - 11-person tackle (Junior Varsity) - 26 players

Two 5th/6th Grade teams - 11-person tackle - 23 players each

Two 3rd/4th Grade teams - Rookie Tackle (7-man) - 15 players each
