Being a part of Lakeridge Youth Football is like being a part of a family. As a member of our team, kids learn teamwork, perseverance, goal-setting, and camaraderie. While teaching the great game of football we stress integrity and accountability while helping build self-confidence - and we do so in a fun and engaging environment.
Lakeridge Youth Football is part of the Tualatin Valley Youth Football League (TVYFL), the nation's third-largest independent non-profit football league committed to providing safe and enjoyable athletic competition. Certified by USA Football's national initiative, Heads Up Football®, Lakeridge Youth Football League shows a strong commitment to making the sport both better and safer.
Our 130+ participants include students that will be entering grades K - 8th in the Fall and who live within the Lakeridge High School district boundaries or attend any private school within Lake Oswego. Student-athletes who attend Lakeridge Middle School, Westridge, Hallinan, and River Grove are automatically accepted. All others are encouraged to contact the LYF President for playing options.
3/4 ROOKIE TACKLE and K-2 FLAG FOOTBALL IN 2023!
Lakeridge Youth Football participates in TVYFL's Rookie Tackle program for the 3rd/4th-grade level. We also now offer introductory flag football for grades K-2. These are transitional programs designed to help bridge the gap between flag football and full 11-person tackle football.
As most other sports have a progression level (t-ball, coach pitch, player pitch for baseball; small field/goal/team size for soccer; etc.), our hope is that Flag & Rookie Tackle will make the game more accessible, easier to understand, and more fun for our younger, entry-level players in a 7-on-7 tackle format.
Lakeridge Youth Football plans to field competitive teams in 2023 in the following TVYFL divisions:
8th Grade - 11-person tackle (Varsity) - We will have 2 teams
7th Grade - 11-person tackle (Junior Varsity)
5th/6th Grade - 11-person tackle - We will have 2 teams
3rd/4th Grade - Rookie Tackle (7-man)
K-2 - Flag Football
